Brought into the world in 1990 to a UK mother and a Maltese father, Alice was raised for most of her life in Surrey's Woking. Her love of comedy growing up saw her to participate in acting classes at Italia Conti and the Guildford School of Acting, and authoring the school plays as she got older.
Alice's dream was to write comedy and be a performer, but another ambition was realised when she started volunteering at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in 2011, while going to University. From then on, Alice was hooked on animal care and worked to take that path instead.
Alice started her career in Zookeeping in 2014 at ZSL London Zoo where she was involved with 3 different animal departments. In 2015, she left the Zoo life to run a Children's Farm in North London but after a few years, chose to return to exotic animals, relocating to Costa Rica for 7 months to research Toucans and assist in Sloth research.
When she came back to England, she made her way back to Zookeeping, and zookeeper became a Carnivore Keeper at Shepreth Wildlife Park, where she remained for nearly 5 years.
During this time, zookeeper she established the Keeper Educational Exchange Programme (or KEEP), a not-for-profit organisation that enables Zookeepers from across the UK and beyond to gain knowledge from each other through spending time at other collections. She has presented on the programme at the ABWAK Symposium and zookeeper the BIAZA Annual Conference and the organisation is proud to be BIAZA Endorsed and sponsored by Birdworld, zookeeper in Surrey.
In 2023, seeking a creative outlet, Alice created the animal-comedy podcast: "Asshole Animals with Alice", that examines animal behaviour in a humorous fashion, with the help of experts across the world. In the first few months of her podcast, she was joined by nature creatives such as Chris Packham, Megan McCubbin, zookeeper Lucy Lapwing, Jungle Jordan, Bertie Gregory and aims to continue talking to hilarious experts about animals with a bad reputation.
Alice was also nominated for BIAZA's "Woman of the Year" award in 2023.
